2B Giles SS Betemit
C Loduca C Valentin

Grade
Offense A Led the league in nearly every offensive category.  Hit 53 more HR's than any other team.
Starting Pitching A+ Pettite, Smoltz, & Willis are premier 1-2-3.  Lowery is very good #4
Middle Relief A+ Boyer, Carrasco, Fuentes, Linebrink, Majewski, Ohman, Padilla, Weathers. All are great, and cruel to platooning line-ups..
Closer(s) A Nathan has a very good card.  Extra base here and there, but a whip less than 1.
Bench A+ Bench is incredible.  Wright, Clark, Tracy, Jones, & Aurillia can all rake.  It's not fair.
Defense C+ Everyone is a 3 except for Giles at 2B (2). Lead league in fewest errors allowed.
Experience / Luck A Team has two world titles and been in the series three times.

Los Alamitos (103-59) NL West Champ

SS Furcal RF Church
2B Nunez 2B Castillo
C Molina C Schneider

Grade
Offense A-  Pujols, Berkman, & Ensberg are league's best 3-4-5.
Starting Pitching C+ Haren, Prior, & Myerss all 3.70 guys.  Seo can be a very good 1 start guy, otherwise it's sub par Lawrence.
Middle Relief A Cain, Eischen, Maholm, Valverde, & Cordero are studs.
Closer(s) A Turnbow has a great card.  Can use Cordero or Valverde too.
Bench A- Duffy, Murton,Rodriguez, & Zimmerman make one heck of a  bench
Defense B- Can have 2's up the middle with Castillo & Furcal. Many other 2's and 3's.  Had 3rd most errors in league
Experience / Luck C First year team in playoffs.

Rocky Mountain (94 - 68) Wildcard #1
vs LH   vs RH

SS Rollins SS Rollins
2B Spivey 1B Overbay
CF Edmonds RF Alou
RF Alou CF Edmonds
1B Dunn 2B Biggio
LF Mondesi 1B Dunn
C Larue C Larue
3B Cirillo 3B Robles

Grade
Offense B- Tied for league lead in runs scored.  However, Big time platoon team is recipe for playoff failure.
Starting Pitching A- Oswalt, Beckett, & Sheets are a real good 1-2-3.  Penny is a solid #4..
Middle Relief B- Eyre, Howry, Marte, Mecir, & Torres are all pretty good.
Closer(s) A- Jones has a card that is tough to score on.  Almost no extra base hits.
Bench D Peidra is the bomb against RH, and Rivera is useful, but that's it.
Defense B- Rollins (2e12), Edmonds 1(-2), & Laure (-2 arm) are solid.  Spivey is a 2 against LH, but Biggio a 4 vs RH.  The rest are 3's & 4's.
Experience / Luck B Second year in a row in the playoffs.  Lost in the league championship last year.

California (85 - 78) Wildcard #2
vs LH   vs RH

SS Reyes 1B Helton
3B Atkins SS Reyes
LF Burrell LF Burrell
2B Kent RF Jenkins
C Barrett 2B Kent
1B Walker CF Lane
RF Wilson C Lopez
CF Lane 3B Atkins

Grade
Offense C+ 5th in the league in OPS & Runs.
Starting Pitching B Milwood & Patterson, nice 1-2.  Capuano & Harang are decent 3-4.
Middle Relief B Carrarra, Farnsworth, Helling, Medders, Lidge, Speier, Tompson can get people out.
Closer(s) A Uses a great Reyes card though he has only a 2 rating.  Lidge and Farnsworth can pick up the slack nicely.
Bench D Willy Aybaris a 100 AB (stud) fluke, and Walker is a good PH.  The rest are just guys
Defense C Better against RH where Jenkins (2) & Helton (1) are in.  Both Catchers are +2. Lane gives a -2 in CF.
Experience / Luck D Not much success in previous playoff spot.  Probably not this year either.

Overview

Los Al vs Rocky Mountain     Advantage

    Offense A-   B-     Los Al
Starting Pitching C+   A-     Rocky Mountain
Middle Relief A   B-     Los Al
    Closer(s) A   A-     Los Al
    Bench A-   D     Los Al
    Defense B-   B-     TIE
    Experience / Luck C   B     Rocky Mountain

Winner         Los Al in 5 games

While Los Al has a definite advantage in several categories, RM's starting pitching should win them at least 2 games.  If games are close in late innings, Los AL has a huge advantage with numerous relievers against platooners.

      LA   California     Advantage

    Offense A   C+     LA
    Starting Pitching A+   B     LA
    Middle Relief A+   B     LA
    Closer(s) A   A     TIE
    Bench A+   D     LA
    Defense C+   C     LA
    Experience / Luck A   D     LA

    Winner         LA in 3 games

The best team in all of Strat (forget record, this team played without a HAL setting all year) against a California team with many holes.  LA not winning in 3 would be a surprise, though 3-game sweeps are hard.
